Deal of the Week!! SOLD!!!
SOLD – less than one minute!
The rules! :
1. First paying customer gets it. By phone or in person ( 817-332-1772. Call. It’s best to call.)
2. No holds. None. We just can’t.
3. No returns. We never want to see this thing again. ever.
So, put aside the fact that I originally stated that we would only deal-of-the-week non-damaged goods. Have you done it yet? Okay, this week we have something damaged. It happens.
This was an expensive custom order apartment size sofa. For reasons that are complicated – the buyer immediately changed to a slipcovered linen version. We said it was complicated.
But first the leather story. Imagine a vintage old leather bag that Steve Mcqueen might be seen throwing in the back of his convertible for a weekend escapade. Soft. Supple. Textural. Has the look of age old leather. Rare. Expensive. Imported.
Now, back to us. We then put this expensive hunk of cow onto the floor and it rained soon thereafter. The leak dripped right down onto the sofa, right smack onto one of the seat cushions. And it being some serious cool non-sealed leather and all, well, let’s just say it left it’s mark. This is not a small stain, but it is a relatively discreet stain, noticeable in certain light and by a more type-A personality. But we like things just so, we decided to try and repair it. We googled “get a rain stain off a nubuck sofa” – well, this had me on my knees scrubbing the stain with a piece of bread. Yes, you heard me right. We read that a good bread-scrubbing would knock that stain right out. I mean, it was on the internet, so it must be true, right?……not so much. The next solution was down-right diabolical – “Let’s stain the whole thing!” we said. So we dragged out all the cushion covers and literally hosed them down. No dice. Nope – hosing was not the ticket. And then, we, being short in the attention span department and the patience department, gave up.
So, we offer you this leather sofa. Really nice leather – buffalo leather (that’s the animal, not the city). This sofa is a great size. It’s a smaller scale frame so it can be used a lot of places. The cushions are spring filled down – that means strong and soft and made to last. This is a great sofa…. i mean except for the water stain part.
I think the right person will embrace the stain as character.
Or maybe this person is relieved that the first stain has ALREADY HAPPENED and so the sleeping slobbering dog or unfortunate peanut butter sandwich incident doesn’t really matter anymore. Fear be gone!
And even better, you’d have a great piece of furniture that comes readymade with a great story. What more could you ask for?
